Last Fast food meal and Day 1

For my last meals yesterday I went to Chick Fil A for lunch and Taco Bell for dinner. I took it easy at Chick Fil A getting just a 12 count chicken nugget with large fry and large lemonade.
From Taco Bell I got (pictured above):
  1.  two bacon cheddar gordita crunches
  2. An order of fully loaded nachos
  3. A grilled steak taco

The order cost $13.60. It was the first time I ever had the fully loaded nachos and they were def very good and filling. I'm happy with my last fast food meal for a long time.

Here is the rundown of how the first day of the bet went:

Last night, after returning home very drunk from a party, Jody had me heat her up her Cheesecake Factory leftovers. This was a very cruel move, just 2 hours into my bet. I made a hot roast beef sandwhich with mozzarella cheese on flatbread. I didn't wake up until about 2 pm today. I made myself a bagel with egg and mozzarella cheese. At about 7:30, I made dinner for Jody and me. I broiled a few NY Strip steaks and made some potatoes and green beans. I marinated the strip steaks  in A1, garlic salt, meat tenderizer and crazy salt. I have to say they were quite delicious. About 11 pm, I had one slice of a Kashi Chicken pizza I had made for Jody.

We made two clarifications with the bet that I had questions about. 1. Convenience stores are allowed 2. We are allowed to use dipping sauces from the restaurants that are prohibited.

I didn't leave the house today so that made it pretty easy to avoid the restaurants. 364 days to go..

  1. It is not my wish to downplay the difficulty and discipline involved in this bet, however I must say I feel that the omission of so described "convenience stores" is a logical misstep. You will often find yourself in a place like wawa or 7-11 to get 1 of say 5 of the same revolving items. Many times these are items the place has become known for, such as Wawa's hoagies and meatball sandwiches, their original brand ice teas, or pretzels. The same goes for 7-11's go go taquitos, hot dogs, slurpees, or Calvin's disgusting nacho bar.

In essence these items make up that place's menu, (Wawa in fact has a physical menu from which people line up and choose their orders) and they bring customers back again and again. If either of these places have 55 or more locations nationwide, they pose what i consider to be very similar establishments to those that are currently banned.

Their nature as semi-grocery stores does demarcate them from "fast-food," i admit, but on the other hand, i feel the glaring similarities to fast-food chains are being conveniently ignored.

Why not allow the participants to buy grocery type items from these convenience stores, owing to their literal convenience as being ubiquitous and always open, while prohibiting the consumption of their prepared-to-order food items? This would allow you to access items which should clearly be open game, like milk, tastycakes, herr's brand potato chips, and slim jims, while prohibiting items which carry the same functional weight as a whopper or big mac, such as wawa's delicious meatball classic, famed far and wide for it's deliciousness.

    Food for thought.
