January 28th,29th and 30th- Another Quick Rundown

I have written about half of a blog post that I will hopefully finish tomorrow on a topic close to my heart: The Whopper from Burger King. Check back tomorrow or Sunday for that.

1/28:
Had the second half of my Phat Pioneer from La Familia around 3 pm.
Jody made pasta with meatballs for dinner around 9 pm.

1/29:
Peanut Butter and Jelly sandwhich around 3 pm
For Dinner I made us what I think are the best pork chops I've ever had. I defrosted them overnight and then marinated them in the afternoon. I marinated them with garlic salt, basil, soy sauce, a little olive oil, crazy jane's salt, and the most important ingredient: maple syrup. I let them marinate for a couple of hours then put cilantro and a little lemon juice on them and then broiled mine for 4-5 minutes to get them cooked medium and Jody's for about ten minutes to get them well done. I added a side of broccoli to round out the meal.
After my dart league I picked up an order of hot wings from a local bar called Dominics.

1/30:
I ate my leftover wings around 3.
Had another PB and J sandwhich around 5.
Went to my Dad's house for dinner for my stepbrothers birthday. I ate about 3-4 pieces of stromboli, 3 slices of pizza and 5-6 wings from a local Pizza place named Sal's. I had a slice of birthday cake as well.

January 25, 26, and 27- Quick Rundown

Jan 25th-
Breakfast at Jody's Grandmom's.. two eggs over easy, bacon and toast
Ate dinner at Jody's cousins house.. salad, pasta with meatballs and sausage and finished it off with a slice of apple pie

Jan 26th-
Had tournament at Borgata today didn't get to eat anything until dinner break around 7:30. I got a cheesesteak with whiz and provolone and fried onions from Tony Luke's.
Didn't eat again until about 3:30 am when I got a bacon cheeseburger and fries from the deli at Harrah's which cost $21.

Jan 27th-
Had tournament again all day and didn't get to eat until about 6:30 at night when Jody and I ordered from this local pizza place called Mi familia. A few days ago, they left their menu on my door. When I looked at it I was shocked to see that they now offered "Phat" sandwiches. I figured I had to give them a shot to see how they compared to the originals. I got a Phat Pioneer which is a cheesesteak with chicken fingers, fries, mozzarella sticks, marinara sauce, mozzarella cheese and I added bacon. Jody and I also split an order of buffalo chicken fingers. The sandwich was good.. they used a different method than the grease trucks. They cooked all the food together prior to placing it on the roll so everything kinda blended together which made it tough to determine what I was eating at different points in the sandwich. It was absolutely huge though. Overall, I think its an okay sandwich but still much prefer the real deal. That was the only meal I ate yesterday.

I realize this first month of the bet I've probably eaten out more than I've made my own food. It's been difficult to eat healthy this month between traveling to Florida and playing tournaments at the Borgata. I'm going to strive to do much better in February. When January ends I will have a $ total on how much I spent eating compared to what I normally spend. I thought that with this bet I'd likely save a lot of money on eating out but this month was the opposite due to the circumstances.

January 23 and 24th- Old Homestead and a Nice Surprise

Yesterday for breakfast I had a cinnamon raisin bagel and a glass of OJ. For lunch, I broiled a couple of New York Strip steaks and paired it with some corn and green beans. For dinner, Jody and I met up with my poker friend Tom (not to be confused with Ton from the previous entry) and 5 other online poker players for a dinner at Old Homestead at Borgata. Jody and I had been there once before and had a very enjoyable dinner complete with MONSTER steaks and great service. Yesterday was no different. I drank a couple of Coronas and Jody had a glass of Riesling. For appetizer, we split a Jumbo Crab Cake which was absolutely phenomenal. For my main entree, I got the Kurobuta Bourbon Glazed Pork Chop (pictured below) cooked medium. The flavors on the meat were unlike anything I have ever tasted before. I had a little bit of lobster from Tom's surf and turf and that was also amazing. I highly, highly recommend Old Homestead if you are in the Atlantic City area.

Today, I had another cinnamon raisin bagel for breakfast. For lunch, I ate the leftover steak from yesterday's lunch with the corn and greenbeans along with a couple of glasses of red wine. For dinner, we were at the mall so we decided to grab something there. Growing up, one of my regular places to eat at the mall was Flamers Grill. Unfortunately, that location shut down several months ago ( I would not be able to eat there anyway because there are 61 locations). Today, I discovered that a new place had opened called Whimby's Burgers and Fries. I did some research and spoke with the guy at the front counter and found out there were only 2 locations. The guy was really friendly and personable which is always a good start for a new place. I got a bacon cheeseburger with lettuce, tomato, pickles and ketchup along with curly cheese fries. Everything was very fresh and the fries were very good.

Hopefully I'll start eating a little bit better soon. Despite the massive amounts of food I've been eating lately, I feel like I've probably lost about 5 lbs since the New Year without really trying. I don't think I have any big eating plans for the next few days so I should be able to get in a Top 5 list soon.

January 20th,21st and 22nd- Amazing Day of Eating

On Tuesday I didn't eat a real meal all day. I ate a random collection of leftovers and also made some frozen jalepeno poppers.

Yesterday was one of the greatest days of eating that I can remember in a long time. Ton and I went up to our old stomping grounds of New Brunswick for the RU vs. Louisville game and some good eating.

Here is the rundown:

First stop around 1:30 was the famed RU grease trucks. Click the link if you are not familiar with grease trucks. These sandwiches have been a staple in my life since I set foot on Rutgers campus in 2001 and mostly responsible for the 30+ pounds I put on since graduating high school. It was not out of the ordinary for me to eat two of these in a night and by like the second month of school the guys at the trucks already knew my order. In 2004, Maxim named one of the sandwiches the best sandwich in the country. I got the Fat Va Va Voom today which consists of cheesesteak, bacon, mozzarella sticks, french fries and marinara sauce.

Next stop was Stuff yer Face. Stuff yer Face is known for its extensive beer selection and its boli's. Also, the food network chef Malto Mario worked there when he attended Rutgers. We didn't intend to eat here but the boli aroma got to me after 3 or 4 Rogue Dead Guy Ale's. I wanted to just get a baby boli which is only 4.5 inches but the baby boli and the 9 inch regular boli were the same price so I ended up getting a chicken and spinach boli. The picture is a little bit dark but you get the idea. It was excellent.

This picture is definitely tough to see. Our next stop was the Olive Branch which was one of our favorite bars in New Brunswick. We drank a bunch of $1 Coors Lights and then ordered our food. Their special is the Dirty Sandwich which is a sandwich packed with all different kinds of things on Garlic Bread rolls. I got the Dirty Hernandez which had chicken fingers, jalepeno poppers, cheese and salsa along with fries.

After the game we went to one of the greatest places in the world to eat: Mastori's Diner. Mastori's was featured on Food Network a few years back and has a ridiculously extensive menu with amazingly large portions. For appetizer, Ton and I split potato skins with cheddar and bacon (pictured above). I feel without a doubt that Mastori's has the best potato skins of any place I've eaten in my life.

For my main entree I got the Chicken Marsala which I have never had before from there. I don't know if the picture does it justice; there are 3 pieces of chicken there. It also came with two sides, I picked macaroni and cheese and garlic mashed potatoes. Mastori's is also very well known for its fresh baked cheese bread and cinnamon bread that comes prior to your meal. At this point in the evening I was feeling terribly full so I was only able to eat one piece of the chicken and pick at some of the sides before I had to throw in the towel. I got the most terrible painful hiccups when I was driving Ton home and fell asleep with a pretty terrible stomach ache. The amazing day of eating was worth it though.

Today, the only thing I ate was my Mastori's leftovers. They were just as good as the previous night.

January 18th and 19th- Colonial Diner

Everyone has their own "go to" food establishment. For me and my friends, that place has always been Colonial Diner. Last night at around 2 am I got a text from drunk Raj asking me to pick him up from a friend's house about 20 minutes away. The reward for this favor: a free meal from colonial. This was obviously a no brainer despite the fact that I had just changed in to my PJ's and wasn't even really that hungry. I ended up getting one of my staples.. Chicken Parm sandwhich with Mozzarella Cheese Fries and as usual it was great.

The only other meal I ate all day was around 6 pm when I had pasta and meatballs and sausage at my Dad's house. A little bit later in the night Jody cut me up some strawberries and bananas.

Today for breakfast I had more of the strawberries and bananas and a cinnamon raisin bagel. For lunch I had the leftover chicken from the other night. For dinner, we went to Jody's mom's house where I had roasted chicken, green beans, and butternut squash ravioli. I finished the meal off with some oreo's.

I almost accidentally lost the bet again tonight but was fortunate to be saved by my sister, Trinna. I stopped at my mom's house briefly and as usual I headed straight for the kitchen to see what was sitting around. I spotted a box of Dunkin Donuts munchkins and went to dig in when Trinna said.. "Ewww, don't eat those, they are gross... aren't they from a chain too?" I have to be super careful or I'm going to accidentally lose the bet for sure.

January 16th and 17th- Hibachi time

On the 15th I barely ate anything all day. My first meal was the Borgata Buffet again around 7ish. I had some pasta, chicken, and broccoli.

Yesterday I ate a cinnamon raisin bagel for breakfast with a glass of orange juice. My mom brought over a chicken pot pie the other day so I ate some of that for lunch. For dinner, Jody made a delicious chicken dish. The chicken was cooked in lemon juice and olive oil on the stove. She sauteed orange peppers, green squash, onions, and garlic with salt, pepper, basil and olive oil. She chopped up an avocado and tomato and threw everything together with a side of garlic basil whole wheat cous cous.

Today I had some more of the leftover dinner and some of the chicken pot pie when I woke up. For dinner we went to a local Hibachi place called Samurai. I had a spicy tuna roll and I went big with the lobster tail and the filet mignon. A few minutes ago I had some sliced strawberries and bananas.

Next week should be some fun blogs. I'm going to do another top 5 list and on Wednesday, Ton and I are doing a tour de gamor which will feature the Grease Trucks, The Olive Branch and Mastori's Diner.

Jan 12,13, 14: Quick Rundown

I've been sick the past few days and haven't really eaten much...

Jan 12-
Had breakfast at the Holiday inn before we left. I had two eggs over easy, wheat toast, bacon and potatoes
Had lunch at this little pizza place called Pino's Pizza in Roanoke Rapids, North Carolina. I was concerned about how many of these there would be because when you look online you can find lots of places called Pino's Pizza in different states but they are not related. I talked to the waitress and she said this was the only one. Jody and I split bacon cheese fries which were awesome and were made with mozzarella cheese even though we didn't specifically ask for it. The bacon on the fries was really good and reminded me a lot of checkers. We also had a medium white pizza which was very good.

Jan 13- Made an egg white sandwhich with mozzarella cheese for breakfast. Went to PJ Whelihan's for lunch after Ava's checkup. I had 5 buffalo shrimp and a buffalo chicken sandwhich. Later in the night I had a bowl of my mom's soup.

Jan 14- Went to Ducktown for breakfast. Had steak and eggs with wheat toast and potatoes. I played in Borgata tournament all day. For dinner I went to Borgata buffet but took it easy.. had like 6or 7 shrimp, two slices of pizza and a few onion rings.

January 10th and 11th- On the Road Again + Breaded Chicken Finger Foods Top 5

Yesterday I had potatoes and eggs for breakfast around 9 am. For lunch, I had leftover chicken and dumplings. For dinner, we went to a restaurant called Mulligans Grill  (not to be confused with the Mulligans in Georgia that we stopped at on the way down that ended up being a strip club) in Jensen Beach. I got the cheeseburger quesadilla which came with fries and a Red Stripe to wash it down.

Today I had an english muffin with cream cheese for breakfast. We left the place we were staying in Florida around 1:30. Before we left we stopped at a grocery store to get some sushi and sandwhiches for the road. I got some spicy rolls.. I think one was yellowtail, one was eel and one was tuna and an Italian Sub. I also picked up some organic white cheddar cheetos which were quite good. We got in to Santee, South Carolina around 9:30 and got a room at the Holiday Inn. I asked the lady at the front desk where I could eat and she said this place named Clark's was open until 10 so I rushed all of our stuff upstairs and ran back out to Clark's. I walked up to the door and a kid who looked exactly like Terrell Owens opened the door and said they just closed. I called Jody and she decided she wanted Burger King so I went there and got her a Tendergrill Value meal and a Hershey Pie. The aroma of the BK fries overtook my car and I started to go crazy but I kept myself in check. I had no other options but to go to a gas station and try to find something to heat up in the hotel microwave. The first gas station I pulled up to was really dark and there were two creepy fat people outside on rocking chairs so I literally pulled up to a parking space right in front of them and immediately backed the hell out of there. Next was an EZ stop convenience store. The only thing that I could possibly eat there was a hot dog but when I opened the little oven thing they were a very strange bright pink color. I finally settled on CVS where I picked up a Lean Cuisine four cheese pizza. Tomorrow will be the last day of traveling so I won't have to deal with crap like that anymore.

On to the Top 5 Breaded Chicken Finger Foods. I have to say that one of my favorite breaded chicken finger foods that is no longer around is the KFC chicken nugget. I don't remember how long ago they got rid of it but I do remember that it was absolutely amazing. The restaurants eligible for this list were noted in the last entry. Sonic is not included on this list because I have never had their chicken strips. "Breaded Chicken Finger Food" is a term which is used to include chicken tenders, nuggets, and strips.

Number 5 is a tie...

5a. McDonalds Chicken McNugget- While I do like the McNgget, too often I find myself having an unpleasant McNugget experience due to poor preparation by the staff. It is really, really gross if you get an undercooked McNugget or one of those McNuggets where the meat is all weird. I also haven't ever been the same since I failed in my attempt to eat 60 McNuggets in January of 2006.

5b. Burger King Chicken Fries- A newer item in the Breaded Chicken finger food category, chicken fries were introduced in 2005 and are available as a 6, 9, or 12 piece. A little known fact: BK offered a 36 piece party pack when the chicken fries first came out. The flavor is a bit better than BK's chicken tenders ( they are TENDERS by the way, not nuggets, I hate when people used to come to BK and order nuggets). You also get much more bang for your buck with the chicken fries.

4. Checkers Chicken Strips- Although I don't often get them from Checker's, I have to rate them number 4 overall on my list. I love Checker's Buffalo sauce which is an absolute must when eating these strips. According to my research, Checkers came out with the strips in 2006 but I seem to remember enjoying them much earlier than that.

3. KFC chicken strips- The strength in KFC's chicken strips is their versatility. You can get them in original recipe, Honey BBQ, Fiery Buffalo, or Sweet n' Spicy. I personally prefer the original recipe dipped in BBQ sauce. Also, please check out this link that I found during my research on KFC chicken strips... I may or may not be RedneckRev: LOL KFC

2. Wendy's chicken nuggets- Wendy's all white meat nuggets have long been a favorite of mine. They have always been a great value with the 5 piece being just 99 cents. They have a bit more a peppery taste that reminds me of KFC's nuggets. I usually dip with bbq sauce or sweet and sour sauce.

and nummmmmber

1. Chick Fil A nuggets- Despite not being able to eat these wonderful little nuggets on Sundays, they still top my list as the best breaded chicken finger food. Their unique shapes and unique taste set them apart from all other fast food chains attempts at chicken finger food. They are described by Chick Fil A as bite sized pieces of tender all breast meat chicken, seasoned to perfection, hand breaded, and pressure cooked in peanut oil. The peanut oil gives the nugget that intense flavor that overwhelms the soul. It also helps that Chick Fil A has the best BBQ sauce and ranch sauces.

Thoughts?

January 8th and 9th- Apple Pie and Legal Seafoods

Yesterday I woke up and had a bowl of Multi grain cheerios for breakfast around 9 am. For lunch, I had leftover chicken lombardi. For dinner we had a meal that I've never actually had before: chicken and dumplings. It was really, really good and right up my alley. For dessert, I had the best apple pie I've ever had in my entire life. I can't even begin to describe it but the secret ingredient was sour cream.

This morning I had another bowl of Multi grain cheerios again around 9 am. I had leftover chicken and dumplings and a piece of apple pie for lunch. For dinner Jody, Ava and I went down to this place called Cityplace  in West Palm Beach. We met up with my good friend Jonas and his friend Lauren. Now any meal with Kris Jonas is a great meal, but this meal was particularly good because we ate at Legal Sea Foods. If you are wondering, there are 31 locations so I am allowed to eat there. We had two bottles of Riesling and the Crispy Montauk Calamari Trio for appetizer. This trio consisted of regular calamari, Rhode Island style (hot peppers and garlic) and Thai style (pineapple and peanuts). I had the New England Clam Chowder as well. For my main dish I had the Florida Grouper with Blue Claw Slaw which came with a Spicy Red Pepper sauce and fried plantains. The fish was really, really good and the best part of the dish was the fresh avacado that came as part of the slaw.

Tomorrow I hope to have my top 5 "Breaded Chicken Finger Foods" from fast food places. The fast food places that I have decided to include in my lists are: Wendys, McDonalds, Burger King, Chick Fil-A, Sonic, Arbys, KFC, Checkers, and of course Taco Bell. I chose these restaurants and left others out because these are the ones with which I have the most experience. I will do future lists that involve sit down restaurants.

January 6th and 7th- Home cookin'

The past two days have been pretty simple. Yesterday I woke up around 12:30 and had a cinnamon raisin bagel with cream cheese. For dinner around 6:30 I had a salad, spaghetti and meatballs and some garlic knots. Around 11, I had two meatballs and a ham and cheese sandwhich.

Today, I had another cinnamon raisin bagel with cream cheese for breakfast around 9. I had left over spaghetti and meatballs for lunch. For dinner we had a salad and a great chicken dish which I believe was chicken lombardi with white rice and green beans.

I've been trying to put together a top five list for french fries from fast food places. One interesting question is whether potato wedges from KFC should count in this category. Please let me know your thoughts on that and on my list in the comments section. The list is done without KFC included, but if they were to be included I think they would be either number 3 or 4. I think one thing about fries is that they can easily be made very poorly. There have been times that I've gotten fries from the places numbered 2 through 5 on the list and felt the fries were terrible that day. I also feel like numbers 2 through 5 are mostly interchangeable and the number 1 french fry is by far the best in the business.

5. Chick Fil A- The waffle fries are really good and are a nice change from traditional fries. They are the best when they are almost overcooked. If you get them and they aren't crispy and cooked all the way they can be pretty bad. I like them best dipped in Chick Fil A's delicious BBQ sauce or ranch sauce.

4. Burger King- BK has tried a variety of different approaches to fries. Their current fry is good, but not as good as the fries around the turn of the century. I feel like BK has the most inconsistent fries. You can go to one store and get some great fries and drive down the street and get terrrrrrible fries. From my personal work experience, this has a lot to do with how often they change their fryers. They should be changing them twice a day but I remember helping out at a neighboring BK and finding out that they did it once every two weeks!

3. Arbys- I am a sucker for the curly fry. Unlike the waffle fries, Arbys fries are the worst when they are overcooked and become too crunchy. The flavor of the curly fries complements Arby's menu items very well especially if you pair them with a Beef n' Cheddar.

2. McDonald's- The fries from McDonalds are one of the only things that I can appreciate from the world's largest fast food chain. I appreciate the greasiness and saltiness of the fries and think they go great with a chocolate milk shake. The major downside of these fries is if you don't eat them in the first 10 minutes they get soft and mushy and taste like crap.

1. Checkers- I could talk for days about Checkers fries. They are far and away the best fries in the business. I personally love them as loaded fries with bacon, cheese and ranch and I'll often throw some of their buffalo sauce on them as well. They have the best flavor and texture of any fry. I really feel like their are no downsides to Checkers fries unless you consider the universally known "checkers crap" the next day to be a downside.

The other fast food chains have fries that aren't good at all and I would never even bother ordering. Sonic and Wendy's are two that come to mind but they have both done a good job in offering other items to substitute in value meals other than fries.

Again, leave your comments with your thoughts on the KFC potato wedges and my overall fry list.

January 4th and 5th- The Struggle on the Road

When I look back on this bet at the end of the year I think that the past two days will have been the most difficult days of the bet. I didn't anticipate how difficult it would be to find places to eat on the road. We left my hometown area around 1 pm yesterday. I stopped at Wawa and got a hot dog and a pretzel for my first meal of the day. The traffic was terrible for most of the early part of the trip. Around 6 or so I stopped for gas because I saw a sign for a 7-11 but I couldn't find the 7-11. Jody got wendy's and I had to settle for a bag of doritos and a pack of crackers from some crappy little gas station. Around 7:30 I found a 7-11 and had a hot dog and a monterrey chicken taquito.

We stopped driving around 11 and got a room at a Comfort Suites in Lumberton, North Carolina. Raj detailed the story in my last blogs comment section but I'll rehash it here. The only places open were the Huddle House and McDonald's. Jody got some food from Huddle House and I was fortunate enough to discover a Walmart right down the street. Our hotel had a microwave in it so I got a Kashi Sweet and Sour Chicken meal and a Kashi Chicken Rustico hot pocket. I also got some Milano cookies which are my favorite.

In the morning, I woke up just in time to get downstairs for the complimentary breakfast. I had a waffle and a bagel with orange juice around 9 am. We got back on the road and were moving pretty nicely. Around 2:30 we stopped in Brunswick, Georgia to let the baby eat, get some gas and find some food for us. While the baby was eating I checked out a place called Mulligans Bar and Grill. Unfortunately for us, it was a strip club! We saw a place called Beef O'bradys in the Comfort Inn so we went there to check it out. Turns out there are 265 locations so that was a no go. There was an italian restaurant across the street so we drove over there but it was closed. I gave up on eating so we drove down the street to a Wendy's so Jody could eat. In that short trip down the street, there was lots of construction going on and I managed to hit a giant bump in the road. When we pulled in to Wendy's a guy pointed out that my back left tire was completely flat. I just got brand new tires a week before we left for the trip. I pulled in to a gas station to try and fill it up with air and I could hear the air coming out of the tire. Luckily there was a tire place right around the corner so we pulled in there.

After a short delay, a gentleman named Dewayne came out and told me to back up into a spot. He put the jack under the car and hoisted the car into the air while we were still in the car! That is service right there. Somehow the entire sidewall of the tire blew out and I would need a new tire. They didn't have any tires there but Dewayne said he would make a call. A few minutes later he was talking to a customer out front and then came back over to my car. He told me that that guy was going to go pick up a tire for us. We got out of the car and waited inside for a bit and about 15 minutes and $120 later we were back on the road and I still hadn't eaten yet. At about 7 I finally found a gas station convenience store and got a chicken sandwhich and fries. At about 9:30 we made it to our final destination where I had some homemade chili and cornbread.

The next week should be much easier because Jody's Aunt will be cooking most of my meals. I have to say that it was a bit upsetting to pass a lot of fast food places that I can't normally eat and not be able to stop. A little piece of me died with every Steak n Shake I passed.

Jan 2nd and 3rd- I almost lose the bet..

Yesterday, I woke up around 11 and made myself a bagel, an over easy egg and the left over strip steak. I picked up some soup from my mom's house around 6 or so and had two bowls of that for dinner. It was a roast beef soup with carrots, potatoes, rice, noodles and of course roast beef. Around 8:30 Jody and I met up with a group of friends at a local Chinese/Japanese byob for dinner.  This is of course a restaurant that is allowed under the paramters of the bet. I got a spicy tuna roll and the Szechwan delight which I believe was a pork, beef and shrimp dish with veggies and white rice. Everything was very delicious.

Today I didn't eat my first meal til around 2 pm. I had another bowl of the roast beef soup and I made some mozzarella sticks and jalepeno poppers for Jody and me. Mozzarella sticks and poppers are a more recent addition to most fast food menus. As a Burger King employee in high school, I got to witness the addition of these two items circa 2000 with the introduction of the BK cravers menu. I thought they were a delicious addition to the menu and they seemed to sell well however BK shelved the cravers menu a few years later. Although there aren't many fast food restaurants to choose from, here is my list of the best mozzarella sticks in the business:
3. Burger King (when they had them)
2. Sonic
1. Arbys

Coincedentally, Arbys also has the best marinara sauce as well. Sonic's marinara sauce has a bit of a weird taste to it. McDonalds also used to have mozzarella sticks (they may still have them). I had them twice and thought they were absolutely terrible which isn't surprising to me considering I feel McDonalds is the worst fast food restaurant.

I'm not sure if I wrote about this before, but Matt and I decided before the New Year started that the qualifying factor for whether a restaurant is considered a chain that is not allowed is if there are more than 50 locations in the US. So back to today and how I almost lost the bet. We went over to Jody's brothers house around 5:30 to celebrate his birthday with some pizza and cake. Earlier in the week when I had learned of this event I thought about whether I'd be able to eat the pizza and had decided that I likely would be able to because they usually order from a local pizzeria. When we got there I saw that they had ordered from a place called Pat's Pizza (http://www.patsfamilyrestaurant.com/site/index.jsp?go=locator)
I knew there were a few in the area but I figured I was fine to eat the pizza. Right before I was about to grab a slice I thought I better be safe and had Jody's brother check their website. As you can see on the site it says choose from one of our 55 locations! Thank god I didn't take a bite of that pizza or I would have lost the bet on the third day! It was pretty painful sitting there starving watching everyone eat that delicious pizza. It was made even worse by Jody's brothers 11 year old nephew who somehow managed to bring up the bacon cheddar gordita crunch from taco bell several times while stuffing his face with pizza.

I ended up waiting until 12:30 to eat due to extenuating circumstances. We are leaving for Florida tomorrow morning so we didn't really have any food in the house so I went to the grocery store and bought a Kashi margherita pizza and a Lean Cuisine chicken panini. We eat the Kashi pizza's on a regular basis and they are very delicious. This was the first time I had the Lean cuisine panini's and I thought it was just okay.

The trip should be quite a challenge trying to figure out where I can eat and where I can't eat. We are gonna drive 9-10 hours and stop halfway and stay the night in a hotel tomorrow and finish the trip to Florida Monday. I'll be sure to update while I'm down there.

Last Fast food meal and Day 1

For my last meals yesterday I went to Chick Fil A for lunch and Taco Bell for dinner. I took it easy at Chick Fil A getting just a 12 count chicken nugget with large fry and large lemonade.
From Taco Bell I got (pictured above):
  1.  two bacon cheddar gordita crunches
  2. An order of fully loaded nachos
  3. A grilled steak taco

The order cost $13.60. It was the first time I ever had the fully loaded nachos and they were def very good and filling. I'm happy with my last fast food meal for a long time.

Here is the rundown of how the first day of the bet went:

Last night, after returning home very drunk from a party, Jody had me heat her up her Cheesecake Factory leftovers. This was a very cruel move, just 2 hours into my bet. I made a hot roast beef sandwhich with mozzarella cheese on flatbread. I didn't wake up until about 2 pm today. I made myself a bagel with egg and mozzarella cheese. At about 7:30, I made dinner for Jody and me. I broiled a few NY Strip steaks and made some potatoes and green beans. I marinated the strip steaks  in A1, garlic salt, meat tenderizer and crazy salt. I have to say they were quite delicious. About 11 pm, I had one slice of a Kashi Chicken pizza I had made for Jody.

We made two clarifications with the bet that I had questions about. 1. Convenience stores are allowed 2. We are allowed to use dipping sauces from the restaurants that are prohibited.

I didn't leave the house today so that made it pretty easy to avoid the restaurants. 364 days to go..
